The Road Ahead for HMBradley

To our HMBradley customers,

Today I’m writing the message I never wanted or expected to send to you. We’re announcing that beginning November 15th, HMBradley is beginning a wind-down of our consumer deposit and credit card programs over the next 30 days

We know the closing of these programs may come as a surprise, so below are some important dates and notes about our timeline so that you can begin to plan and start to move your money from HMBradley to wherever you go next.

Important Deposit Account Dates

November 15, 2023 - Today marks the beginning of the wind down for our deposit program. You can still use your account in the normal course of business, though we will be restricting incoming transfers originated from the HMBradley website or mobile app as of today. You will, however, be able to send money from your HMBradley account to another institution via ACH or Wire transfer throughout this wind-down process.

November 20, 2023 - This is the last day that credits from external accounts will be accepted, with the exception of federal and state benefit deposits, which will be accepted until December 15, 2023, to give the governmental authority the time to redirect the deposits.

December 15, 2023 - Final interest payments will be posted¹, and federal and state benefit deposits will no longer be accepted. This is the final day to debit money from the account.

Between December 15 - December 31, 2023 - All accounts that have not been closed by the customer will be closed and a check will be issued to customers at their address on file.

Important Credit Card Account Dates

November 15, 2023 - Today marks the beginning of the wind down for our credit card program and the termination of the HMBradley Credit Card Rewards Program. Effective today, all credit limits have been reduced to $1,000. You will need to update or cancel any automatic payments that you have set up with your HMBradley Credit Card and make other arrangements for those payments.

November 20, 2023 - The last day to redeem cashback rewards to your HMBradley Deposit Account (you will still be able to redeem rewards to an external account or apply them to your credit card balance after this date).²

December 6, 2023 - The last day you will be able to initiate transactions with your HMBradley Credit Card.

January 14, 2024 - The last day to redeem cashback rewards from your HMBradley credit card, either by applying them to your credit balance or redeeming to an external account.

January 15, 2024 - All unredeemed cashback rewards will be nullified.

NOTICE: Please continue to make your monthly payments or pay your balance in full as set forth in your cardholder agreement.

What's next for HMBradley?

Since the start, we have been on a mission to bring a better banking experience to life, dedicated to empowering customers with tools and services that enable smart money management. Throughout 2023, it became evident that our consumer brand growth was falling short of our goals.

At the same time, several banks approached us to use the technology we’ve developed to power their next generation of financial products. Because of this, we have made the strategic decision to shift to focus on integrating our technology with established banks. This transition enables us to continue our mission on a larger scale and hopefully positively impact the financial experiences of a broader customer base beyond just HMBradley customers.

We are deeply impressed by how our customers have utilized HMBradley to achieve their financial goals and are honored that you chose HMBradley to reach those goals.

You've used Plans and Routines to show us what autonomous finances might look like to support better savings habits, and we know there’s still much more to come. We recognize that the closure of our consumer programs marks a significant change in your financial ecosystem and want to express our genuine acknowledgment of this shift. We know some of our features don't exist in other financial institutions as a substitute and we too are upset by losing access to them for now.

Looking ahead, we’re optimistic about the future of banking and rebuilding the features you love with other banks. Banking is ripe for disruption and now more than ever banks are looking to deliver world-class customer experiences. The coming decade promises exciting advancements for customers, and we anticipate being at the forefront, driving the next wave of financial services and customer experiences.

Today it’s clear that you won’t be seeing what we build in the way we’d always imagined when we started this over five years ago, but we feel certain that this is not the last you’ll hear from us.
